It was a wonderful time to be traveling in Michigan; there were snow storms during my entire visit. I turned a 3 hour drive into a 4 and a half hour drive to Abby's house.
We carpooled the rest of the way to the cabin, and as we were slipping and sliding all over the road, crazy waltzes played over the radio.
The cabin was fine. No running water, no electricity, just a wood burning stove and a water pump outside for 3 days. And a stinky latrine. Call me crazy, but it was fun. But I was a Girl Scout once.
We played capture the flag one day and the final stand down in the woods was an epic battle. Four from my team had Alex (from the other team) surrounded. He made a valiant stand trying to protect his flag with the help of a couple decent sized sticks he picked up. In the end we managed to capture the flag, but not before Paul had captured our flag and won the game just two minutes earlier.
The boys brought Risk with them. I haven't played ever. Or at least I haven't played in years. Of course that didn't stop me from kicking their asses two games in a row. Well, I should have. I won the first game and shocked them all. Everything was working in my favor during the re-match but my apparent power was intimidating the other players, so they formed ACA (the Anti-Chelsea Alliance). Then I lost, of course.
