Love Bites

Warning to any of my male readers: this post is going to bore you to death.

There are weddings and engagements happening all around me! Not that I'm at that point in my life or anything... but it has me in the mood to look at wedding stuff. And hey, I do like to occasionally fantasize about tying the knot with my hypothetical dream dude. What girl doesn't?

First of all- everything is so freaking expensive! And it all starts with a ring. How much did the guy spend on your engagement ring?... because that's how much he loves you. Or at least that's the way they make it seem.
After casually browsing a couple of websites, I can't say I'm in love with any of them. But I guess when someone expresses interest in marrying me then I'll be more interested in doing the required research. Although I have to admit, I am super glad that gold isn't the norm anymore. I much prefer the platinum (or white gold).

On to the dresses! What's up with all this royal wedding crap? Yes, Kate Middleton's dress was gorgeous, but why would you want her exact dress? Hold on to your own personal identity. Gosh. And dresses that are some crazy color? Yikes! Maybe I'm just too traditional that way.

OK that's enough. Engagements and weddings are fun in theory but I'm more than happy waiting a few more years. Plus I really like my last name. Sure, I don't HAVE to change it... but I think there's something romantic about taking on your S.O.'s last name. Besides, if I love someone enough to marry them, I'm going to love them enough to become a member of their entire family. Bing bang boom.

Keeping with the love theme here... I was recently introduced to the TV show "Love Bites" and I'd have to say I'm a fan. Sometimes the writing and the acting is a bit cheesy but it's still sweet at the same time. Basically each episode is made up of 3 short stories. Who said short films don't have a place in Hollywood? (My producing teacher did). They seem to have found their place in television.

Last, but not least... "Love in the Wild" the new reality show that crosses dating and Survivor... in an odd sort of way.
A bunch of good looking people hook up and compete in challenges out in the jungle.. all in the hopes of finding the love of their life. I seriously doubt anyone on that show is going to find their soul mate by the end of the show.
It's a terrible show. But it draws you in, in the same way that The Real World or Big Brother might draw you in. It's like a train wreck you can't take your eyes off of. I love it.
