HIGH School
This movie was filmed in my hometown a couple years ago, and as of right now this is all I can find to show for it. Apparently it was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (not sure why I didn't hear about it in Cannes). And with a big name like Adrien Brody, I would think the movie would have been picked up by a distributor by now.
I'm a little afraid to promote it, although I have friends who were extras in the movie. I didn't get the chance to get on the set because I was in Chicago at the time. It has a very unimaginative title, and the plot is... simple (to put it nicely). It will probably go straight to video, which is hugely disappointing since it was such a big deal for the people of Howell- in both good and bad ways. Of course it brought a lot of money into our little city, but the people of Howell are a conservative bunch... a group of people were up in arms over the subject matter. Money won out. It always does.
It will probably turn out to be crap, but I'm on a mission to see it, if only to support my friends who were in it.
