Some magical Friday in November:
Shayna had gone home to Boston for her 22nd birthday because she likes Jen better than us, but I decided we should have a birthday party for her here. I spent the evening dancing around in another one of Tim's Halloween costumes (this time as a carton of cigarettes) and playing my worst game of spoons ever. After most people had gone home, the four of us who were left decided to head on down to Al's Grill.
Looking for my keys, I reached my hand into my purse only to find my wallet was missing. There [above] you can see my horrified realization as I dumped out all of the unnecessary junk from my bag. So I went back to the Grill and discovered my wallet was taken and spent the wee hours of the morning canceling my cards.A day later I was contacted by the guy who took my wallet; he left it at the police station for me to collect. My faith in humanity had been restored!
PS- the person with me in the pictures is not Shayna... it's my cool new friend Hilary from New York. Our friendship grew out of a horrible student film experience and a mutual hatred for someone.
A couple weeks later we commandeered a certain Potbelly. Renee sang show tunes and I did stand-up comedy for a sold out crowd. You'll probably have to click on the picture to see it full size in order to find me. Where's Waldo?Mom and Grandma came in early December to wisk me away back home to Michigan. But first, some downtown Magnificent Mile type shopping was to be done, much to my disapproval. I avoid Michigan Ave in every day life, but it was nice to play tourist for a day.
Zoo lights! The zoo decorates itself for the holidays and plays music, and has arts and crafts for the kiddies. Mom and I left Grandma to entertain Shayna and went by ourselves. It was warm(ish) and raining but the ice sculptures still impress.
Thursday, Dec 18:
My dad walked out of the house early in the morning to go to work, but found a truck parked in our driveway; windows down and engine running. Two people were passed out in the front seat. Such a strange occurrence because we live in the middle of nowhere, amongst cornfields and cows. The strangers weren't asphyxiated, just dazed and confused and miles away from their perceived destination

I promise there's much more than that, but it's New Year's Eve so you can only imagine my level of dedication to blog writing right now.
