movie rumors

These sort of things get me a little excited
And by "a little excited", I really mean monstrously ecstatic. The only other time I got the same feeling was when I chugged a rockstar energy drink on an empty stomach and then someone told me I was going to die. I've never talked so much and so fast in my entire life.
If I had to choose between chocolate and movies, I'd choose movies every time.

I realize none of that makes much sense at all. The point is: I just fell into a couple awesome movie rumors (and/or truths).
First off, if you haven't heard already, Tim Burton is directing a live action (partly CGI-ed) Alice in Wonderland. Johnny Depp is in it, of course (as the Mad Hatter), and Helena Bonham Carter. I'm going to assume Danny Elfman will be composing the music for it as well, but don't quote me on it. It's just that's usually who Burton works with.
I actually don't like the Disney animated Alice in Wonderland because it freaked me out as a kid. But then again, so did Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Tim Burton is, by far, one of my favorite directors, so I can't imagine anyone better to direct Alice in Wonderland. The thing about Burton is that his style is dark and twisted in the most awesome way. I'm still iffy about which version of Charlie/Willy Wonka I like better, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with Alice in Wonderland.

And speaking of Johnny Depp... Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is actually in the works. What? I know! It's crazy. The 2nd and 3rd movies were so awful that I actually wanted a 4th one to be made just to make up for all the damage that's been done. But this is Hollywood, and big Hollywood Blockbuster sequels are all about spectactle. They certainly had that, but the plot was convoluted and a bit frustrating at times. Plus, I absolutely hated the Will/Elizabeth storyline. Who needs them? I thought they were both stupid. What they need to do is make a movie just about Jack and Barbossa. Geoffrey Rush is absolutely amazing, and the 2nd movie was definitely missing something without him in it. Hopefully that's the direction the writers go in because that's where they sort of left off at the end of the last one. But who knows! It's unofficial date is set for 2012, though I'm sure it will probably end up getting pushed back.

On to my next class
